Spent some time finally digging into my amazing !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! .
!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Had some help from some friends to power-wash the first layer of grime off the truck, paint is clearly a quick Macco level job, and it looks like the truck may have been fawn originally. The red isn't bad except for needing a major compounding and a few bad chips and cracks, the white is terrible . It is cracking & peeling and it was badly masked so there is both over-spray onto the red and gaps where there primer shows between the two colors. I will probably sand down and rattle-can the white bits so it looks less terrible.
A battery and some starting fluid and the engine ran. I put some fresh gas in the tank and got it to run on its own. It has some definite top-end ticking, and is blowing blue smoke. Going to run some Marvel mystery oil through the crankcase & some seafoam though the carb and see if that helps. Also discovered the alternator is completely dead, so it is running off the battery.
The brake M/C was bone dry, but I filled it and pumped the hell out of it and got a good firm pedal. Still going to replace every rubber part in the system but it is good enough for a quick spin around the block. So here is a video of me doing just that, with extra bonus dorky commentary from my friend.

So what are the plans for it?

Still trying to sort the paperwork, once I have that squared away I'll be able to register it. Then it'll get an alternator, complete tuneup, new hoses & belts, and all rubber brake parts replaced so it is a safe driver. Then I'll probably touch up the paint issues, drop the front a few inches, get better hubcaps, replace the bed wood and drive the hell out of it until snowfall when it'll get tucked away for the winter.

No deal, but I'll sell you my other '64 pickup for $2000, I need the driveway space. :)

I'd love to have a classic runner. Something that looks halfway decent but you dont have to worry about where you park it, and is reliable enough to cruise around in. This certainly fits the bill.

And where would this truck be?

Rhode Island. It runs, drives and is currently registered, but needs rust repair.

Cool! I had a '66 that I bought for $400, put about $100 of parts in it, drove it for a year, and sold it for $500.
If you're changing the alternator, get the later kind with the internal regulator. You can find out how to wire it up on Chevytalk. Another worthy addition is an HEI distributor. Adding a Ford starter relay sends power to the starter solenoid directly from the battery which takes the load off the ignition switch, and allows easier starting, especially if the engine is hot. Again, Chevytalk had the wiring instructions, which are simple. Finally, disc brakes can be added by bolting on the spindles and upper control arms from the '73-'87 trucks.
Every part can be had for these trucks, and pretty cheaply too. Wish I still had mine.

Hmm...
This vintage is exactly what I'm looking for, but I'm not yet set up to do anything beyond simple mechanical work. Arrgh.

I could use the welding practice, so for $3000 I'll do all the cab & fender rust repair(including materials). It won't be factory stock as this truck has had prior rust repair, but everything will bolt up as it should from the factory. Final bodywork & paint and smaller rust repair/replacement would be your responsibility.

any interest in a trade? Trying to replace my long gone '66. The dodge is nowhere near as cool but it does have heated seats...
